EHS and Sustainability Manager

DECOTEK Automotive is and Irish owned and operated business based in the midlands employing approximately 350 people in a highly skilled manufacturing environment. We design, develop and manufacture premium exterior trim components for the global automotive industry. 

Role Overview

As a member of the management team, the purpose of this role is to develop best practice strategies, provide governance, and implement the company’s environmental, health and safety program as well as the company’s sustainability program in order to develop a EHS and Sustainability circle of excellence. 

Principal Accountabilities:

Area: Health and Safety

Key responsibilities will be:


  • Develop, implement and monitor the Health and Safety strategy across the business
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture that lives and breathes health and safety
  •  Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law


Area: Environmental and Sustainability

Key responsibilities will be:


  • Develop, implement and monitor the Company’s Environmental Strategy.
  • Implement best practice with the aim to be leaders in sustainability locally and abroad
  • Measure the company’s sustainability performance
  • Working closely with the business, to educate and inform them on the changes you’re looking to implement and how they will impact our environment and workplace


Area: Compliance

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage all aspects of the site’s compliance with its Integrated Pollution Control License.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including those set by OSHA and the EPA
  • Implement internal policies to support employee health and safety and environmental regulations
  • Submit permit applications and renewals
  • Follow regulatory reporting requirement
  • Liaise with external bodies such as Certification Europe, EPA, Irish Water.
  • Manage waste recycling and disposal.
  • Responsible for internal environmental and health and safety training (Company Induction, Toolbox Talks).
  • Monitor of the Effluent Treatment plant and EPA Licence related sampling.
  • Manage the effluent treatment system and ensure compliance to license requirements.

Experience, Training and Work-Related Skills Required


  • Degree in Environmental Science Health and Safety Science or similar
  • Experience with IPPC licencing requirements essential
  • Manufacturing experience in the industry (strongly preferred)
  • 2 years + people management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in a regulated environment and familiar with EHS management systems.
  • Understanding of:
  • Irish H&S and Environmental Legislation and regulation
  • Site permitting & reporting obligations (e.g., air, water, waste)
  • Product commercialisation process and global product compliance standards (equipment, chemical, packaging, etc.)
